Nicola Shaughnessy ist Professorin für Performance an der Universität von Kent, UK. Ihre Forschungs- und Lehrinteressen liegen in den Bereichen angewandtes Theater, zeitgenössische Performance, Autobiografie sowie Kognition und Performance. Sie ist die Gründerin des Kent Research Centre for Cognition, Kinesthetics and Performance und leitete das vom AHRC finanzierte Forschungsprojekt: Vorstellen von Autismus. Zu ihren bisherigen Veröffentlichungen gehören Artikel über Gender und Theater, ein Buch über Gertrude Stein (2007) und die gemeinsam herausgegebene Sammlung Margaret Woffington: Lives of Shakespearean Actors (2008). Sie ist Mitherausgeberin (mit John Lutterbie) der Methuen-Reihe Performance and Science und Herausgeberin von Affective Performance and Cognitive Science: Körper, Gehirn und Sein (2013).

Nicola Shaughnessy is Professor of Performance at the University of Kent, UK. Her research and teaching interests are in the areas of applied theatre, contemporary performance, autobiography and cognition and performance. She is the founder of Kent's Research Centre for Cognition, Kinesthetics and Performance and led the AHRC-funded research project: Imagining Autism. Previous publications include articles on gender and theatre, a book on Gertrude Stein (2007) and a co-edited collection Margaret Woffington: Lives of Shakespearean Actors (2008). She is co-editor (with John Lutterbie) for the Methuen Performance and Science series and edited Affective Performance and Cognitive Science: Body, Brain and Being (2013).
